My mp3 player is an anomaly? D=

Okay. . . For about a week I've had a problem with my mp3 player. It's been cutting off signal to the left side of my headphones if I have something putting pressure on the jack in a certain direction.

But this morning something I would have thought impossible happened. . .(Listening to Nirvana, albums: Bleach, Nevermind) I discovered that if I have the headphone jack rotated to a certain position, and put pressure on it in a certain direction, I can instead of cutting out all sound from the left, I can cut out all the channels except the room mic. . . I don't know how this is possible. It SHOULDN'T be possible. . . But it happened. . .

i'd say.. get a new pair of headphones that you know have nothing wrong with them and plug those in, then do the pressure thing again and if nothing happens, replace your headphones. [you can use mine to test it if you want, 'cause i know those work with my mp3 player + laptop]

theennn if it still happens, i reckon the wiring to the headphone jack is f'd in the a.

Yeah. . . It kinda was already obvious to me. I actually don't care about the condition of my headphones, I just didn't think that the above event was possible. (The only being able to hear the room mic, not the generic problems)

well, uh, i guess if your mp3 player has an equalizer of some sort, it'd separate the channels, so i can see how it would be possible. but anyhow, that is pretty trippy. XD

It does have an equalizer, but it still shouldn't seperate the channels. The EQ would seperate the frequencies.
